Question 1

What does the schema coverage checker do?

Accepted Answer

It scores your Postman collection against your OpenAPI schema and shows which endpoints, parameters and responses your tests actually cover, and which they miss.

Question 2

Does it run or send requests to my API?

Accepted Answer

No. The checker is fully static. Your collection is scored against the schema and nothing is ever executed or sent to your API.

Question 3

How does the checker resolve my collection's base URL?

Accepted Answer

If your collection defines its own base URL variable, we use it. Otherwise we fill it from the base URL you confirm on upload (prefilled from your schema's servers list), leaving out any path your requests already include so it isn't doubled. If scoring would need a different base URL than the one you confirmed, we ask you first. No Postman environment file is needed.

Question 4

Is the schema coverage checker free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The checker is free to use. You sign in to view your full coverage report.

Question 5

What is API schema coverage?

Accepted Answer

It is the share of everything your schema declares (endpoints, parameters, request and response fields) that your tests actually exercise. A low number means large parts of your API are untested.
